16 years ago (hard to believe!) my time at S.V.A. The School of Visual Arts in Manhattan was very memorable because of the teachings of Abby Robinson. She has BA:History of Architecture at Barnard College, NYC and a MFA:Photography: Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY, Abby Robinson was essential in my development.
The class was Black and White Film & Dark Room processing. I had high school experience but Abby taught and explained it in way that helped me comprehend the art even better, I connected with her. She helped me understand that perfect image I selected on my contact sheet was not always the one to process and develop, I learned to question myself and search for a deeper vision. I observed how she cared and engaged with the students who were there to learn. When you explore her work I guarantee you all will sense the truth, she is a true artist!
To this day, the time she gave and her work still resonates with me. Thank you Abby Robinson!
